Sega’s Platinum Games division looks to have the most promising games in their lineup. In addition to Bayonetta, Madworld was given a demonstration to the gaming audience.
The game features Jack. Jack is thrust into Mad City and is forced to kill countless goons in a twisted game show. The more stylish the kill, the more points you are awarded. Once Jack has accumulated enough points, he can then challenge the stage’s boss. But the demo ended before we got to see that boss.
The variable variety of ways that Jack can kill his enemies can be similarly contrasted to the the number of weaponry littered on the landscape. Flaming barrels are one example. Jack can use the environment to his environment. See a wall with spikes on it? An oncoming train? You, the player, decide on what to do.
Jack also has a chainsaw available and will be the game’s default weapon. Asides from that, the game’s visual style is prominently featured as black and white which will have no trouble appealing to the towards the graphical capabilities of the Nintendo Wii and it is a nice direction from other games of the genre.
A familiar voice was constant throughout the demo and it sounds a lot like Marcus Fenix, Sega gave no comment on the voice work of the game currently. But Platinum Games and Madworld looks to be shaping up very well.
