The arrival of the next expansion of World of Warcraft, Wrath of the Lich King, will be bringing more than just new areas and classes. Blizzard has confirmed today that WotLK will be brining goal-based achievements.
Some achievements will be accompanied by in-game rewards such as tabards, vanity pets, and titles.
Over 500 achievements will be available initally for the expansion and there is room for expansion. A new window will display conditions in order to unlock the various achievements. Achivement will be broken down into categories such as: Player-vs.-Player, Dungeons and Raids, Professions, Quests, Events, World Exploration, Reputations, and General.
Some examples of achievements include giving out 10 hugs, collecting 10 vanity pets, beating every dungeon, or killing 50 enemy players in your factions capital cities.
Once an achievement has been earned, nearby players and guild members will be notified of your accomplishment and will also be available for viewing through the game’s Armory.
