Okay, retro gamers; admit it: How many of you are scared of the HUGE Bot (blue jelly monster) that lies in the Great Palace towards the end of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link?
I will never forget spending an entire day battling through the temples and making it all the way to the Great Palace for the first time. As we wind our way to the final boss, we come up on a bridge area.
What I was not expecting was the sudden appearance of a giant version of what up until that point had been a tiny blue thing. And by huge, I mean this thing took up most of the screen.
I was too afraid to venture any further, so the game was turned off.
To this day, I’m still afraid of the giant Bot, but I also know I have to face that fear to finally finish the game.
