The Nintendo DS successor will utilize “3D effects without the need for any special glasses.”
Nintendo 3DS will include backwards compatibility with both Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi software. Expect the new handheld to have two screens, one of which is touch sensitive – along with cameras and support for downloadable software.
The new hardware is expected to succeed the Nintendo DS line of products whose cumulated sales have reached 125 million units as of December 2009.
More details about the new hardware are expected to be revealed at E3 2010 which starts June 15, 2010.
