Indie Games Uprising: Epic Dungeon

We are in talks with the developers of the Indie Games Uprising movement and currently in the process of getting reviews and video previews (mini-Appetizers) out there for the various games on the platform. In the meanwhile, we wanted to provide some quick overviews/impressions about each game in the lineup.

Epic Dungeon is a roguelike game with an abundance of content packaged for a mere dollar transaction. It offers four playable classes to play around with and its constantly challenging. Fans of the roguelike genre from the past days will appreciate the old-school reminiscence of colored tile graphics, randomly generated dungeons, and phat loot drops.

Players will traverse through progressively difficult levels of a dunegon, all the while battling re spawning real-time enemies that allow you to gain experience and level up. Stat junkies will find plenty to love in utilizing precious talent points to beef up characters and certainly for loot whores there’s plenty to find by searching for extra potions, items, scrolls, and money. Since the dungeon levels are all randomly generated, each play through is a different thing every time.

Leaderboards track your progress in the game, my first play through lasted a short 1 minute and 22 seconds as I randomly encountered a vampire boss in the 2nd level and immediately died. However, I was able to retrace my dead corpse from the previous game so the incentive to replay, god knows how many times, from the beginning is ultimately what brings me back to Epic Dunegon. If you have the itch to play a challenging dungeon crawler for a low entry cost, check out the Xbox Live Marketplace and give the game a try.
