Portal 2‘s early release fate is currently in the hands of gamers around the world with the Aperture Science page being updated, presenting a final challenge tied to the release of Portal 2. Here’s what the challenge entails.
Courtesy of VE3D, GlaDOS is drawing power from computers playing games from Valve’s Potato Sack promotion and for every 48 hours played within each game, the respective title will have its title bar go up by 1%. Idling won’t help as GlaDOS needs actual gameplay time logged in.
Potatoes collected within each indie game acts as a multiplayer for everyone. For example, six potatoes in Defense Grid will multiply everyone’s efforts in Defense Grid by 6x. Once the progress bar at the top is maxed, Portal 2 will immediately release pending that the release date doesn’t hit first. Your call! Collect them potatoes.
