Gamescom ’11: Sony Shows Off Resistance: Burning Skies for PS Vita

Sony unveiled gameplay for Resistance: Burning Skies at the their press conference at Gamescom. The game, slated to release for PS Vita, takes place before the events of Resistance 2, and follows NYC Firefighter Tom Riley as he battles the Chimera.

The demo shows off some of Vita’s functionality, such as touching the screen to pinpoint where you want to throw a grenade, access to the weapon wheel, and using Sixaxis motion control to look over cover. The demo also showcased how excellent the game looks on the Vita.

Resistance: Burning Skies is being developed by Nihilistic Software, with some help from Insomniac. No release date was announced.
