Scarygirl Announced for XBLA, PSN

Square Enix is publishing a quirky downloadable platformer titled Scarygirl for Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network, based on the graphic novel by Nathan Jurevicius.

Developed by Ricochet HD developer TikGames, Scarygirl brings a tale of an abandoned child with a tentacle arm who is dressed like a pirate and haunted by a strange man in her dreams. She sets out into the bizarre world to discover the meaning behind her dreams with a tentacle powered arsenal that is constantly upgraded throughout the game.

Boasting local co-op, Scarygirl is not alone as she is accompanied by her friends Blister the giant octopus and Bunniguru the mystical, kung-fu rabbit. Together they will encounter and fight enemies such as “the adorably deadly hedgehogs of the Owl Woods, the violent Goat Clan along the Old Man Mountains, Hairclump spiders deep in the Stinky Swamp, and the most enemiest enemies of all: the clueless crossing guards around Bad Town.”

Scarygirl arrives on Xbox Live Arcade on Jan. 18, PSN Jan 24., and PC in “early 2012.”
