Today’s State of Play concluded with the announcement of a new Astro Bot game from Team Asobi. Titled simply Astro Bot, this successor to Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro’s Playroom is an upcoming 3D platformer described as the biggest Astro game yet. Featuring 6 galaxies and over 80 levels, you’ll explore unique planets and use over 15 new abilities as you search for Astro’s lost crew.
The revealed abilities include the Bulldog Booster for air-dashing, Twin-Frog Gloves for long-range punches as well as swinging, and the Giant Sponge to suck up and unleash water from the environment. The announcement trailer provides a good look at this colorful platformer.
Astro Bot will be out on the PS5 on September 6, and preorders will open on June 7.
