Square Enix to Publish Reto-Moto’s Heroes and Generals

Square Enix has announced a partnership with Reto-Moto for the global launch of the F2P online multiplayer game, Heroes and Generals, set during World War II.

Heroes & Generals combines FPS and strategy where players can choose to be a Hero, fighting on-foot and in vehicles that include tanks and warplanes or as a General, to ensure troops and combat resources are best deployed to outmatch the opposing army. Heroes & Generals will be available on PC and is currently undergoing a closed beta. Reto-Moto plans to enable tablet and smartphone devices to influence the ongoing war. “Heroes & Generals blends two gaming genres to create a great, new experience, with multiple ways to play. It’s tailor-made for today’s gamers and we’re extremely excited to work alongside Reto-Moto to bring this to market as a Free2Play game delivered via the browser” said David Guldbrandsen, General Manager of Hapti.co, Square Enix’s new studio in Copenhagen focusing on browser games.

“A partnership with Square Enix is the best thing that could happen for Heroes & Generals and will help us reach a huge audience and ensure we can deliver more content, faster.” said Peter Fleckenstein, Co-founder of Reto-Moto. “We’ll continue to run a community driven development, and the trinity of Square Enix, Reto-Moto, and our community will make Heroes & Generals an incredible game that many gamers will play for years to come”.
