SOCOM: Confrontation, exclusive to the PS3 will be an multiplayer-only game similar to that of Warhawk which is multiplayer-only. It will feature 7 maps with 5 of them that can fluctuate from 8-32 players and have night/day variations.
Fans of the series will definitely like the new lighting and textures they use which will be brought together in stunning HD quality. Especially with being able to choose up to 5 different forces, United States Navy SEALs, Special Air Service (SAS, United Kingdom), Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK, Germany), Unidad de Operaciones Especiales (UOE, Spain), 1er Régiment de Parachutistes d’Infanterie de Marine (1er RPIMa, France).
You can customize your characters extensively and when you join clans you gain even more customizations to really enable your character to look authentic. The game will also sport 7 different playable game modes from previous SOCOM games and will support SIXAXIS controls, the DUALSHOCK 3 and Trophies!
Tournaments will make this game more immersive and will allow clans to come together more often. There’s also a great buddy system in place which will allow friends to join games together and have their own private channel in which they can communicate and choose to own or not.
Old time maps like Crossroads are coming back with 32 player-enabled options on them. SOCOM: Confrontation is set to be released in October, like all the other games coming out this year. Where are we going to find the money to pay for all of these games?
SOCOM: Confrontation will be making an appearance on Blu-ray Disc and you can buy it off the Playstation Store, if you purchase the retail version, you get the Official Playstation 3 Headset, so pick that up if you don’t have a Bluetooth headset!
