With Chrono Trigger being remade for the DS, I thought I would share my most memorable memory of the game: playing it until two in the morning.
See, once we learned that our local video store also rented out games, we (my family and me) would usually go there every weekend and pick one (or two, depending on our funds) to play. One week, we arrived home with Final Fantasy Chronicles, which had Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger on it. Final Fantasy IV was dismissed as too hard and boring, so we tried Chrono Trigger.
From the opening anime scene (which I instantly fell in love with), I was sucked into the tale of Crono, Marle, Lucca, Frog, and the rest of the gang. Hours went by as we discovered the End of Time, danced to Delightful Spekkio, wanted to cheer as Frog harnessed the power of the Masamune, bit my nails as we progressed through Magus’ lair, and raced to stop a doomed future from happening. By the time we even bothered to look at a clock, it was 2 AM; and we were still exploring the Tyrano Lair.
So will I get Chrono Trigger DS to relive those memories? Possibly. Will I attempt to beat my 2 AM record? Definitely.
