It’s almost that time of year again. The football (soccer) season has started, and along with the new season always comes the newest installment of EA’s Fifa franchise. So what improvements can Fifa fans expect to see over last years game? EA has shed some light on the upcoming 09 edition at the Leipzig Games Convention.
We all know players have good matches and bad matches. Well, this year how well a player is playing in the real football world will effect the player’s in-game stats. Updates will be available every week, so if for example Spanish striker Fernando Torres has a string of terrible games (ha, unlikely!), his in-game stats would reflect this.
Fifa 09 will feature new ball physics, promising to create a more realistic experience. The game will also improve online play, now allowing for 10v10 fixtures, in contrast to last year’s 5v5.
A demo will be heading to the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace on September 11th, with a release date of October 14th for the full game on all systems.
