Electronic Gaming Monthly and 1UP have speculated on rumors regarding a new entry of the Max Payne series and a new Playstation 3 exclusive at Rockstar Studios.
Max Payne 3 is in development by Rockstar Toronto, the studio behind The Warriors. Considering the movie project, a new title in the series would be of no surprise.
Created by Remedy Entertainment, the first Max Payne released in 2001. Take-Two purchased the IP from Remedy and 3D Realms in 2002, with a sequel following in 2003. Remedy is currently at work on Alan Wake and is not developing the next Max Payne title.
In regards to the Playstation 3 exclusive, no details were shed except that it is in development by the veterans behind Grand Theft Auto IV.
