With my DS all charged and ready to go, I first attempted New Super Mario Bros.
The controls are very nice, although my only quibble is the running is a bit sensitive, so you may find yourself running off of edges from time to time.
Graphic wise, it is the same 3D sprites in a 2D world I noticed in Mario vs. Donkey Kong, only much much nicer looking, showing the DS’ power in the graphical department. Grab a Mega Mushroom to best appriciate how great Mario looks.
Music wise, all your favorites are here, including the famous Mario theme. (in the Toad Houses) I haven’t gotten too far in yet, but I’m sure there’s some new tracks in store, and they’ll sound good too.
Story wise, there’s not much to say here–Bowser kidnaps Peach again, Mario (and maybe Luigi, if you want) goes after her. Worked well then, still works now.
