EA Canada is working on a new tennis franchise.
Publisher Electronic Arts has stated the game will be released first on the Nintendo Wii in 2009 with other platforms to follow later. The new tennis game will be the first EA Sports title to use the WiiMotion Plus accessory.
The title promises players from the past to the present, featuring “innovative ways to play” and “letting you control the ball and work the court like you never have before in a tennis videogame.”
“Our new tennis franchise, coming first to the Wii, will put fans right into the action and provide the excitement, tension and drama that true champions feel in legendary matches — like the classic from Wimbledon just last month.”
– EA Sports President, Peter Moore
EA also noted that it signed exclusivity to feature the All England Lawn Tennis Club where Wimbledon takes place. But they did not shed further details upon the exclusivity.
