Continuing my thoughts on what I feel a Guitar Hero/Rock Band: The Movie would be like, today we’ll examine which game gets most of the music and possible merchandise ideas.
Please Don’t Stop the (Game) Music
While we don’t know whether the rumored movie I’ve covered before will feature Guitar Hero or Rock Band; in my dream version of Guitar Hero/Rock Band: The Movie, moviegoers would get tracks of both series, plus a few originals written just for the movie. If it were to come out now, the tracklist would lean more towards Rock Band to celebrate Rock Band 2’s release. If it came next month, the list would tip to Guitar Hero. Not surprisingly, my boy characters Matt and Damien would be playing the featured game at least once in the movie.
Naturally, the original songs would be offered as DLC for both games, and possible virtual versions of Estrellas and Thunder Rising availiable for use in your own band.
Merchandising!
On top of this, we get the standard merchandise that comes with every movie: fast food promotions (winning a GH4/RB2 set at Taco Bell, for example), dolls/action figures of the band, special movie editions of both games, OSTs, ticket giveaways and the like. Also included would be trailers on TV, “Making of” specials, talking to the stars, and so on.
So what kind of merchandise would you want to see with a Guitar Hero/Rock Band: The Movie?
