Rumors…..BEGONE!

A few days ago, I went to the doctor’s to get checked for cancer. Why? No other reason than the fact I had absolutely had it with rumors about the ‘I Wanna Be the Guy’ creator. After the test came back negative, I decided to skip home and email the man himself, Kayin (the creator). Today, after playing a rigorous game of Halo 3, I checked my email and he actually responded!

Lately, their have been three rumors going around about this sadistic yet creative man. First, is that he is making an Xbox 360 Community Game (no achievement points Andy!) I asked Kayin if this were true and he responded exactly with “To dispel some rumors. No, not an Xbox Community Game. I don’t have the resources for that.” So you will NOT be downloading a game by Kayin onto your 360 HDD anytime soon. Rumor dispeled!

Second rumor on the list is a small and ridiculous one, but it has been traveling far and wide across blogs and Xbox 360 forums. This rumor states that “Kayin was emailed by Johnathan Blow.” Obviously this is untrue, but to prove it to twats around the world I asked and his response is all we needed: “No email [from] Jonathan Blow. Thats a cute rumor though!” Their you have it! The rumor is false, false, and false just like it sounds when uttered. Rumor dispeled!

Now the final rumor is the one we have all been wondering about ever since we finished IWBTG. The rumor asks if he is making another game and if it means he is putting IWBTG and IWSTK on hold. The man himself answers “Yeah theres some info below.” Man of few words! His latest project is called “Brave Earth: Tower in the Sky.” and below lie what is known D:

Brave Earth: Tower in the Sky is described to be a “full fledged Metroidvania in a detailed fantasy setting with complex fighting game style combat mechanics (including combos that involve more than mashing A and various directions). The game will feature involving, dialog based plot with fully voiced characters(Unless the voice acting turns out so bad that I dump it). Hopefully this will be the first of many games in this setting.

Expected Development Time: 1-2 Years. Get ready for a long wait! Short term side projects during this time are not out of the question.”

Along with that, I am assuming we can expect the same type of difficulty from his previous games. I must say, I am actually looking forward to seeing where this goes. For now, along with all the other info, enjoy his humorous rejected subtitles:
