Publisher Activision has confirmed that you use the turntable controller to rotate in order to scratch, blend, mix, and cross-fade and states that there will be “room for creative expression with a variety of effects and player chosen samples and scratches.”

In addition to battling against other DJs, players can plug in a microphone to MC over another’s mixing or pick up a guitar and jam along to special-DJ guitar mixes.

The first trailer and gameplay footage have arrived and are viewable below.

DJ Hero is scheduled to arrive on Playstation 2, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 in the fall.
