NewsVine – 26th January 2010

It’s time for another day today in the world of gaming.

Red Steel 2 Release Date

A date of March 23rd has been set for North America and the 26th for Europe. The back of the No More Heroes 2 manual states a February release date, but the video in the above link is probably more reliable. Lets hope this is a great Wii title.

Gears of War Characters in Lost Planet 2

With the release date of 18th May set, you can also expect everyone’s Gear-heads Marcus and Dom as characters in the upcoming title. It’s doubtful the PS3 will get this characters and nothing has been said about characters appearing in that version as of yet. Nathan Drake anyone?

Plants & Zombies iPhone Delayed

The iPhone version of the popular tower defence game has been delayed. Pop Cap says “Apologies for the lack of updates regarding PvZ iPhone. The game has been further delayed, but we are *confident* it will launch in mid Feb.” If I had an iPhone I would consider getting this, after all we at MonsterVine gave it a good review if my memory serves me well.

MAG patched already

Any problems with MAG? Well it appears they might already be fixed. A patch on launch day is common place these days but the publisher want to make it seem like a big deal. Problems with an online game on this scale is bound to have it’s problems. Lets hope future problems gets patched quickly.

New Mortal Kombat Film

Apparently Warner Bros are looking to reboot the franchise with Oren Uziel is penning the script. Nothing more has been said at this time. I’ve only seen Mortal Kombat: Annihilation which was pretty cheesy, so quite fitting for that sort of franchise. Most problems come when they try and get something as daft as Mortal Kombat and make it serious, much like the latest Street Fighter film.
