NewsVine – 2nd February 2010

I apologise for the lack of a NewsVine on Friday but I was highly addicted to Mass Effect 2, and I still am. brilliant title and hopefully we can get a review up ASAP, so keep an eye out. Now for the day today in the world of gaming.

The Next Wii Needs More than HD

The Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said during the quarterly investor meeting “‘Do you think it would sell with just that? It needs something new.” He also said the same thing about a the successor to the DS rumours. Yeah he’s right, it needs more than HD. It’ needs to be in 3 FUCKING D.

Namco Bandai Not So Hot

Namco Bandai have revealed huge loses of Â¥11.7bn. ($129.5m) Net sales are down 10.4%, and operating income is down 76.3%. To add insult to injury, 10% of their workforce will be fired. That’s 630 employee’s. Not good times for them, lets hope they release some quality titles that people will buy.

Dante’s Inferno DLC Information Leaked

The DLC will be called “Trials of St. Lucia” and will contain a co-op mode and most shockingly a mission maker. Yeah that’s right, you can create your own levels in Hell. This is some impressive DLC. But it begs the question, should this content be in the game already? An added story, fair enough. But adding totally new experiences and gameplay on that scale before the game is released is just…wow.

Final Fantasy XIII on 3 Discs

Unsurprisingly the Xbox 360 version will be on multiple discs, 3 to be exact. With the PS3 version being on a single blu-ray disc. Star Ocean 4 came on 3 discs so I was expecting the same for this. I just hope you don’t have to change discs to go to different areas. Having to change discs to go to earlier areas was a huge pain in the ass, especially if you’re doing side quests.

Sega’s Motion Controlled Console

Sega have released an all in one portable Genesis in the past, now they are doing the same for a home console Called ‘Sega Zone’. The different is this machine will be motion controlled. You can play all the old classics like Sonic and Golden Axe with dodgy cheap controls. It will contain 50 games for around £50. It would of been decent without the motion controls, but with? Well only time can tell.
