I’m glad to see Team Bondi’s surface from under the radar again. L.A. Noire takes place in a gritty post war 1940s Los Angeles with a dark and violent detective narrative. The developers of The Getaway were known for their cinematic style of storytelling and the work they put into every subtlety of their facial animations shows this. Rockstar Games stated that L.A. Noire seeks to be the first game to “truly explore what it means to be a detective, offering players the opportunity to solve crimes through a blend of classic action, clue-finding and interrogation, allowing players to analyze every subtle nuance of an actor’s performance in order to get to the truth.” Does it hold true? Watch the trailer for yourself.
