Max Payne 3 Details Emerge from EDGE

A number of new details have emerged [via NeoGAF] from the latest issue of EDGE Magazine which features Max Payne 3 as the cover story.

– James McCaffrey is returning as the voice actor for Max Payne 3. In addition, he acts with other actors in mo-cap sessions.
– R* Vancouver, London, Toronto, and New England are all collaborating on this title.
– The story will be non-linear and will seemingly go back and forth in time, possibility of his time in New York, his time in Brazil, and him in the gutter, etc.
– Stadium/kidnapping mission detailed, Max is partnered with a guy named Passos.
– The comic style panels return. Its described as: Instead of static comic book frames, the dramatic plot movers utilize the in-game engine and show an animated college of action footage, ala 24.
– Multiple set piece encounters, including a Mona-style sniper rifle escort mission.
– Mo-cap animation was the emphasis for Max Payne 3, apparently looks quite impressive.
– Bullet time charged by killing enemies, detailed.
– Max is able to hold three single handed weapons at once and dual wield two different weapons at the same time.
– Pop out and shoot cover mechanic as well as bullet time and shoot-dodge.
– Uses the Euphoria engine (GTA IV, RDR) which creates natural animations for Max and his foes.
– Wheel-based weapon selection system.
– Clues that the Inner Circle will return, plot points from previous games make their way in to the threequel. Max is expelled from NYC.
– Online multiplayer will be a feature for Max Payne 3 though no further details were given.
– PC version confirmed, console versions (PS3, 360).
