A new PlayStation software update (v3.61) has just gone live, according to an announcement made on the PlayStation Blog.
The update will force users of the PlayStation network to change their passwords once the service goes back online.
“We strongly recommend that all PSN account holders with PS3s update their systems to prepare for when PlayStation Network is back online,” said Eric Lempel, vice president of Sony Network Entertainment. “The release of this update is a critical step as we work to make PlayStation Network significantly more secure.”
There is still no date when the PlayStation Network will go back online, but the update shows signs of life coming back to the service.
