PS Vita Dated for December 17 in Japan

Sony announced that the Playstation Vita will release on December 17, 2011 in Japan. The rest of the world won’t see a PS Vita release until Q1 2012 at the earliest.

The device will be offered in 3G/Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi only models. Sony has partnered with Japanese provider NTT Docomo (having the best network in Japan) to provide the device’s 3G service. Data pricing for Japan is as follows: 980 yen for 20 hour pre-paid and 4,980 yen for 100 hours pre-paid.

Preorders for the PS Vita in Japan begin October 15.
