The portable version of the PS3 title, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, will release alongside the PS Vita on February 22. The announcement solidifies the game as a launch title for the new handheld device.
The PS Vita version takes advantage of the suite of features offered by the device including gyro sensing to target and shoot projectiles at enemies, rear touch pad to launch stronger Ninpo. Hero Mode, or Easy Mode, allows auto-guard and evasion assists in order to better the experience for players wanting to play through the story mode. If you really hate yourself, more difficulty settings are available beyond Normal and Hard.
“The Ninja Gaiden series lends itself to a great experience on this amazing new platform,” says Yosuke Hayashi, Studio Head of Team NINJA. “We’re confident that gamers, both our fans and those new to the series, will find NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA PLUS to be a thrilling and challenging experience that lives up to the spirit of what the series is best known for while offering a host of new and portable gameplay mechanics.”
