The DiRT Showdown demo is racing out of the gate starting today via the Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Network and Steam on PC.
Showdown’s demo features both a solo race event and multiplayer demolition derby event. The race event, “8 Ball”, features plenty of cross-overs for racers to crash into one another at high speeds.
Players will have to finish the single player race in order to unlock “Rampage”, the multiplayer demolition derby event. Eight players will jump into the demolition match and try to rake in the most points by crashing into their opponents.
The demo will give those who download it an invite to sign up for RacerNet, the new online stat tracking system for Codemasters racing titles.
From the news release:
Launching in beta, players who register now will be able to join in community challenges and once the full game launches, track their progress in game and track challenges with their friends. Gamers who join RaceNet will also be rewarded with an exclusive “RaceNet” skin for use in the full game and will receive $20,000 of in-game currency for DiRT Showdown when it races into retail stores on May 29.
DiRT Showdown launches May 29 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
