Bandai Namco is taking Pac-Man in a bold new direction with Shadow Labyrinth, an atmospheric 2D action-platformer that reimagines the iconic franchise in a dark sci-fi world. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the game launches on July 18, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, with pre-orders available now.
Consume, Hunt, and Survive in a Hostile Alien World
Unlike any Pac-Man game before it, Shadow Labyrinth follows Swordsman No. 8, a warrior trapped on a treacherous alien planet. Instead of running from ghosts, players become the predator, battling monstrous creatures, solving intricate puzzles, and consuming enemies to evolve into the ultimate lifeform. Accompanying Swordsman No. 8 is PUCK, a mysterious yellow companion that serves as both a guide and protector.
A Fresh Take on Classic Pac-Man Mechanics
While Shadow Labyrinth is a drastic departure from traditional Pac-Man, it still incorporates some familiar elements. Players will unlock multiple gameplay modes, including:
