The creators of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge are back with another arcade-inspired brawler—this time, assembling Marvel’s greatest heroes for a cosmic showdown. Marvel Cosmic Invasion, developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu, launches in 2025 for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game was revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct, giving fans a first look at the action-packed co-op beat ‘em up.
A Dream Roster of Marvel Heroes
Bringing together an all-star cast from across Marvel’s legendary comic book history, Marvel Cosmic Invasion features:

Each hero comes with their own unique combat abilities, letting players mix and match duos to create devastating team attacks.
Cosmic Chaos and Tag-Team Action
The game’s story follows an invasion led by the villainous Annihilus, who launches a full-scale assault across the galaxy with his deadly Annihilation Wave. From the streets of New York City to the depths of the Negative Zone, players must battle through iconic Marvel locations to put an end to the cosmic threat.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion introduces the Cosmic Swap System, allowing players to tag between two characters mid-fight, combining their abilities for high-impact combos. The game also supports four-player drop-in/drop-out local and online co-op with crossplay, making it easy to jump into battle with friends.
Bringing the Arcade Experience to a New Era
With a gorgeous pixel art style, Marvel Cosmic Invasion pays tribute to classic ‘90s Marvel comics and arcade beat ‘em ups while introducing modern gameplay mechanics. Tribute Games CEO Jean-François Major emphasized the team’s love for both Marvel and arcade classics, saying:
“We approach this cherished license with the utmost respect, infusing every pixel with the care and passion it deserves. We once again set out to modernize and push forward the genre while respecting what made the classics great.”
Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert added that Marvel Cosmic Invasion marks a new milestone for the studio, following their work on TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge and Streets of Rage 4.
