To me Game of the Year is something that not only stood out to you out of all the games that came out that year, but something you’ll remember years later; Journey is that game. It was a wonderful game to not only play, but watch as well. For the first time I actually had friends coming over just to watch us play it as if we were seeing a movie. It’s something I hadn’t experienced in a game before and that’s something that’s going to keep me going back to Journey after the year is done. – Diego Escala, Reviews Editor
Out of all the games I played in 2012, Journey is the title that made me feel free and relaxed. I spent my time with the game reflecting on its message while I played. Journey is not just a video game; it’s an interactive reflective poem. – Trevor Stamp, News Editor
Some of the most original ideas and experiences I had came entirely from one play through of Journey. The multiplayer broke down walls, allowing for everyone to have an enjoyable experience with everyone. The visual style is amazing and emotionally moving when accompanied by the original score. This is a game that did something different and did it so well that it deserves to be played by everyone. – Austin Adamson, Associate Editor
Journey is a magical game. It transcends its media form and genre into something of its own. Simply put, Journey is artistic and storytelling brilliance. The subtlety and emotion presence you experience when playing this game is something that others should hope to aspire. Additionally, Journey brings one of the only ‘complete’ experiences in gaming in all of 2012. The music, gameplay, visuals; everything meshes wonderfully. If there’s anyone who tells you video games can’t be an appreciated form of art or medium, point them in the direction of Journey. There’s nothing to hide with this title. – George Treviranus, Graphics Designer
