Trion Rewards Players for Rocky Defiance Launch

If you have been playing the 3rd person action shooter/MMO Defiance at all during its launch week you have experienced the downsides of an always online game. Trion is trying to make it up to early adopters by giving players some in game consumables.

Server required games are infamous for a rocky start. Defiance suffers from general instability on all platforms but is really nothing compared to crash and burn of SimCity last month.

As a sign of good faith and to reward players for sticking with it, Trion is rewarding all players with some in game content. The exclusive “launch only” title of “Daredevil” can now be applied. As well as one week boosts for: Weapons Skill, Scrip, Loot and XP. These boosts are typically sold in the in game store for real world money.

Additionally Trion promises to be constantly patching the game, client side over the next month to “deliver a gaming experience that exceeds fan expectations.”

The full list of planned fixes are as follows:

GENERAL

  • Improved server and client stability.
  • Main missions are now replayable after completion of the last mission.
  • Extraction timer upped from 30 to 90 seconds to allow more time for fellow players to revive you.
  • Optimized objects throughout the world to minimize pop-up and improve overall performance.
  • Area voice chat has been improved and is now off by default.
  • Voice and text chat channels can now be muted independently.
  • Text chat now displays for longer and no longer hides when sprinting or boosting.

MISSIONS

  • General polish and bug fixes for all missions and side missions.

PLAYER CHARACTER

  • Bug Fixes

CO-OP AND SOLO MAPS

  • General polish and bug fixes for all co-op and solo maps.

We have reached out for Xbox 360 specific patch plans, as this version of the game suffers from a much lower frame rate than the PC and PS3 versions of the game.
