As of Oct. 28 the portable Android console from NVIDIA, SHIELD has been updated with JellyBean 4.3 and brings the much anticipated GameStream functionality to the device as well as a console mode and the SHIELD Gamepad Mapper.
GameStream lets SHIELD owners who also own Geforce GTX cards in their desktops to stream the games over their local wifi network. This is a really awesome concept, one that Valve is currently working on with their SteamOS and their hardware. One of the downsides of NVIDIA’s GameStream is the lack of title support. It’s great that there are close 50 games that work with GameStream, but it even better if you could access your entire library of PC games over your local network.
