Marvel and Square Enix Assemble for a Multi-Year and Multi-Game Team-Up

Marvel and Square Enix have announced that they will be teaming up for the foreseeable future to create a number of games based on Marvel’s most popular properties. A newly released trailer revealed that Crystal Dynamics, known best for their work on the most recent Tomb Raider titles, will be developing The Avengers Project, the current first game of the collaboration.

The Avengers Project is said to feature iconic characters, environments, and moments for fans of the franchise, while introducing an original story in a brand-new universe that future games will take place in. Phil Rogers, CEO of Square Enix Americas and Europe, commented on the new collaboration:

“Marvel’s diverse, innovative universe has created millions of longtime fans, including all of us. It’s exciting to bring together Square Enix’s award-winning development studios with Marvel’s extraordinary storytellers to establish a new entertainment powerhouse.  This collaboration of passion and talent will craft epic, imaginative experiences allowing gamers to live out their Super Hero dreams like never before.”

More information on The Avengers Project will be released in 2018. For more information, check out the trailer above.
