Astro A10 Zelda: Breath of the Wild Headset Review – Hearing in Hylian

The Astro A10 Breath of the Wild Headset looks fantastic and sounds quite nice. While it isn’t the most comfortable headset of Astro’s, it still gets the job done and serves as a sleek collector’s item for Zelda fans.

Last week I reviewed Astro’s A40 TR Gaming headset, which, while quite pricey, was incredibly comfortable and visually appealing. The A10 Breath of the Wild headset , while not as comfortable, is significantly cheaper and quite elegantly designed with its Zelda emblems and color scheme. Does the headset measure up to this cheaper price, or is it purely for Zelda fans?

The audio and microphone quality in the Astro A10 headset is quite high-quality. When I used it with my Switch, game audio came through rather clearly with no real quality issues. The microphone’s quality was sufficient when used on my laptop, though you’d only really be using it on your Switch if you have online already. Still, everything sounds crisp, and that’s what counts.

The A10 headset is substantially more stiff than the A40s, as they have very little give in the upper area of the headset. As a result, the headset feels a bit tight even on its biggest setting. The earpieces are big enough to go around your entire ear, though the lack of flexibility in the upper area of the headset made the earpieces difficult to angle on my head. The headset isn’t very heavy though, so it doesn’t make your neck tired after using it for too long.

The design of the headset is the real main appeal here, and it certainly delivers in that regard. The Sheikah Slate’s eye symbol is one on earpiece, with a large “Z”, pierced by the Master Sword, on the other. The band between earpieces has the Hylian symbol and some intricate gold patterns running along the side. It looks like a Hylian relic, as it looks like something from Zelda rather than something that’s based on Zelda. It looks great on a shelf or on a person, so I’ve got nothing but good things to say about the beautiful design of the headset.

Worth noting is that the Zelda headset advertises that it was made for use with the Nintendo Switch, but it doesn’t have to be exclusively for that. I used it with my phone and had no problems whatsoever, so you can tote your Zelda headset even if you aren’t packing your Switch.

The Final Word
Though they aren’t as comfortable as more expensive headsets, but the strong audio quality and incredible Zelda-inspired design makes them worth the moderately low price, specifically for Zelda fans.
