Team Ninja’s open-world action RPG, Rise of the Ronin, is making its PC debut on Steam this March 10, complete with enhanced features like 8K resolution, 120fps support, and ray tracing.
A Ronin’s Tale Unfolds in 1863 Japan
Set during the Bakumatsu period, Rise of the Ronin follows the journey of a masterless samurai navigating Japan’s tumultuous transition from the Tokugawa Shogunate to modernization. The game places players in the heart of history, where every decision—from assassinating political leaders like Ryoma Sakamoto to forming alliances—shapes their destiny and determines which of the game’s multiple endings they’ll achieve.
Combat, Exploration, and Choices
The game’s combat system offers deep customization, allowing players to wield classic melee weapons like katana, spears, and odachi, or adopt long-range strategies with guns and bows. Each weapon style comes with unique tactics tailored to different enemies and situations.
Exploration is equally rich, with detailed Edo, Yokohama, and Kyoto recreations. Players can scale rooftops using a grappling rope, glide through the skies with the Avicula glider, and capture breathtaking seasonal landscapes with the game’s photo mode.
