Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Launches May 30 on Switch and PC

Marvelous has officially revealed the release date for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma. The next installment in the action RPG and life-sim series will drop for Nintendo Switch and PC on May 30, 2025.

Set in the Japanese-inspired land of Azuma, Guardians of Azuma puts players in the shoes of an Earth Dancer, a hero tasked with restoring life to the blighted land. The game mixes classic Rune Factory staples like farming, romance, and combat with fresh mechanics like village building, new weapons, and the Earth Dancer’s unique powers.

What’s New in Guardians of Azuma?

  • Fresh Combat and Weapons: Take on enemies with new tools like the Bow and Talismans, alongside the Earth Dancer’s power of dance to purify corrupted lands.
  • Village Building: Rebuild entire villages, attract residents, and bring resources back to life.
  • Japanese-Inspired Setting: From seasonal festivals to stunning traditional landscapes, Azuma’s world is steeped in culture.
  • Romance Returns: Choose between male or female protagonists and romance any eligible characters— gods and mortals.
