Esoteric Ebb is a Dice-Rolling CRPG Where You Can Be an Absolute Disaster

If you’ve ever wanted to talk your way out of a crime scene, wrestle a dwarf, or accidentally overthrow a government, Esoteric Ebb might be your next obsession. Announced at the Lost Odyssey Event, the upcoming tabletop-inspired CRPG from solo developer Christoffer Bodegård and publisher Raw Fury launches later this year. A free demo is available on Steam until March 17.

A TTRPG Brought to Life in a Chaotic Fantasy World

Set in the arcanepunk city of Norvik, Esoteric Ebb follows a nameless Cleric, a bottom-tier laborer who gets roped into investigating a mysteriously exploded tea shop. Along the way, players will roll dice to influence fate, navigate a city on the verge of its first election, and either become a legend or an absolute trainwreck.

  • Branching Choices That Matter – Shape Norvik’s future (or ruin everything).
  • Tabletop-Inspired Dice Rolls – Fail spectacularly in true TTRPG fashion.
  • Mind-Bending Psychic Powers – Read minds, control enemies, and uncover secrets.
  • Turn-Based Combat – Violence is a last resort, but the dice decide if you survive it.
  • The Questing Tree – A quest log, skill tree, and mind map all in one.

Be the Cleric Norvik Deserves (or Just the One It Gets)

In Esoteric Ebb, every action is a dice roll away from glorious success or hilarious failure. Whether you’re bluffing your way through a political scandal or failing to steal a sandwich, the game embraces the unpredictability of tabletop RPGs.

The full game launches later in 2025, but you can get an early taste of Norvik’s madness by playing the demo on Steam until March 17.
