Mindseye Launches June 10 – New Trailer Showcases Sci-Fi Action and Intrigue

The new story-driven, action-adventure thriller from Build A Rocket Boy and Leslie Benzies, one of the minds behind Grand Theft Auto, Mindseye got a new trailer today. Welcome to Redrock, a near-future metropolis where technology is king. Introducing two key characters in the upcoming game, Marco Silva, tech genius and founder of Silva Industries, and Shiva Vega, Redrock’s power-hungry Mayor. The two major players will no doubt have much to do with the struggles facing Redrock when gamers take the role of Jacob Diaz on June 10th.

The new story trailer has some intrigue, but it seems like it’s very concerned with showing players how exciting and action-packed the narrative is coming along. Ramping up for the June 10th release date has been a series of trailers showing off Mindseye, which is a good-looking game. The action-packed third-person shooter looks like it’ll be a strong contender in a genre that isn’t getting a lot of attention. It seems we’ve moved away from third-person shooters, and most of the action-adventure games are straying away from guns in favor of melee weapons or archaic forms of ranged weaponry, futuristic or otherwise. Let’s see what Leslie Benzies has to say about his game.

We can’t wait for players to immerse themselves in our tightly crafted game, MindsEye, with a thought-provoking story where technology and ambition collide, and the inevitable consequences unravel.

It all seems very exciting. The Mindseye is a neural implant that apparently holds the key to humanity’s future. Players will fight to uncover Jacob’s truth where AI, high-tech experimentation, and unchecked military power shape every encounter. Jacob’s story begins as a personal one but eventually opens up to have worldwide consequences. Sentient robots, AI, unchecked power, Mindseye’s content, and context seem very prescient at the moment.

Mindseye Pre-Order Breakdown

Those who decide to take the jump early and pre-order Mindseye will be rewarded with the Deluxe Edition Upgrade.

Let’s go over all the content that’s going to be coming between the deluxe edition and the premium DLC pass that isn’t available for purchase yet.

Deluxe Content (Free with pre-order, not yet available for separate purchase)

  • “Premium Pass”
  • “Deluxe” Thorn & Kepler Yellowjacket Weapon
  • “Future” Jacob Vest Skin
  • “Future” DC2 Companion Drone Skin
  • “Future” Silva Sedan Vehicle Skin

Premium Pass (Free with pre-order, not yet available for separate purchase)

  • Pack 1 “Exotic Pack” (“Exotic” Jacob Vest Skin, “Exotic” DC2 Companion Drone Skin, “Exotic” Silva Sedan Vehicle Skin)
  • Horde Mode Mission: Face a variety of enemies with distinct tactics and behaviors. Think fast and use your surroundings to outmaneuver your opponents.
  • Pack 2: Extra missions and challenges in Q3 2025
  • Pack 3: Extra missions and challenges in Q4 2025
  • Pack 4: Extra missions and challenges in Q1 2026

Seems like a pretty aggressive post-game content strategy. In the copy provided, Mindseye developers Build A Rocket Boy state that their bonus missions will be built in ARCADIA. What is ARCADIA? Build A Rocket Boy’s custom building and distribution tool that enables rapid creation of AAA content, enabling the delivery of new gameplay frequently. Although I haven’t been able to find any information about said tool, I did manage to find a no-code beta tool on the Build A Rocket Boy website called Everywhere. Tools like this enable creatives with little or no programming ability to create experiences and share them with others around the world, so I believe releasing the tool is noble. Especially if, as they say, it can be used for the rapid creation of AAA content.

The Edinburgh-based studio hopes to have Mindseye out on June 10th, 2025. Pre-orders for both digital and physical copies of Mindseye are available right now. With a planned release for June 10th, Mindseye will be available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
