SAND Brings Mech Battles and Diesel-Punk Chaos to Steam Early Access on April 3

The ruined world of Sophie is about to open its doors to even more mech-riding scavengers. Publisher tinyBuild, along with indie developers Hologryph and TowerHaus, have announced that their diesel-punk multiplayer shooter, SAND, will launch in Steam Early Access on April 3, 2025.

Featuring six-player co-op, customizable Trampler mechs, and intense PvP and PvE battles, SAND throws players into an open-world desert wasteland, where survival means looting, fighting, and outmaneuvering rival scavengers.

What is SAND?

Set in an alternate-history diesel-punk universe, SAND takes place on Sophie, a once-thriving planet that lost its oceans in a catastrophic ecological disaster. Now, massive walking fortresses known as Tramplers roam the desert, housing survivors who scavenge for resources, battle rival crews, and uncover hidden riches.

Following a highly successful playtest with over 200,000 players and a top 10 ranking during Steam Next Fest, SAND is finally gearing up for its Early Access launch with new features and improvements based on community feedback.

What’s New in Early Access?

  • Expanded Open World – New cities, points of interest, and more loot to uncover.
  • Undead NPC Enemies – Mysterious creatures now roam the wasteland, attacking players and rival factions.
  • New Environmental Hazards – Minefields and other deadly obstacles make survival even trickier.
  • Trampler Mech Upgrades – Improved controls, new customization options, and an additional chassis type.
  • Ongoing Content Updates – A detailed roadmap will be released at launch, outlining future updates and expansions.

When and Where Can You Play?

SAND will be available in Steam Early Access on April 3, 2025.
