Pew Pew Games’ Terminull Brigade throws players into the chaos of the Nullverse, a digital battlefield where adaptability and firepower are the keys to survival. This free-to-play, co-op roguelike PvE shooter blends intense third-person action with randomized progression, ensuring every run feels fresh and unpredictable.
Meet the Rogueteers
At the heart of the action are the Rogueteers, a band of digital warriors fighting against relentless AI algorithms. Each brings a unique backstory and playstyle to the battlefield:
- Blade – A hardened survivor born in the slums, Blade grew up knowing only struggle. His combat style reflects his rough upbringing, favoring relentless melee attacks and high-mobility engagements.
- Aurora – A tactical genius and former esports champion, Aurora rarely fails. Her precision-focused abilities allow her to strike with deadly accuracy, making her a perfect choice for those who prefer long-range combat.
- Colonel – A soldier haunted by the past, Colonel still carries the weight of duty from his days on the battlefield. His heavy artillery and defensive abilities make him a steadfast tank in the heat of combat.
These warriors battle across diverse environments, from the neon-lit Futuristic City, teeming with AI enforcers, to the desolate Wasteland, where unpredictable enemies lurk around every corner.
Diving into Combat – Hands-On Impressions
Jumping into the tutorial, I got a taste of Terminull Brigade’s core gameplay loop. Players start by selecting a Rogueteer that matches their preferred combat style—whether it’s up-close brawling, precision shooting, or strategic support. Every skirmish presents an opportunity to refine your build, with Eight Arbiters available for powerful ability enhancements. Stacking chain damage effects during my run made cutting through enemy waves feel incredibly satisfying.
Strategic Build Customization
Customization plays a massive role in Terminull Brigade, demanding mid-run adaptability to succeed.
- Potential System – Unlocking Potential during battles allows players to alter skill forms and awaken new combat abilities, keeping every run dynamic.
- Relic System – Experimentation is key, thanks to 18 Relic sets that enhance base attributes and 20 legendary Relics that introduce game-changing mechanics. The Relic Pool system also enables teammates to swap relics mid-battle for better synergy.
- Combat Terminull System – This newly introduced system lets players enhance their abilities through modular combinations, creating an evolving “combat puzzle.” Modules are earned as battle drops, with Legendary Special Modules unlocking at higher difficulty levels.
Co-Op, Boss Battles, and Intensity Boosts
Co-op play demands coordination, strategic planning, and adaptability to enemy threats. Players can trade relics, sync up abilities, and adapt on the fly for tougher fights.
Boss battles elevate the challenge even further. The difficulty cap has increased, introducing new boss mechanics that force teams to rethink their approach. Combat itself has also been fine-tuned, with shorter stage durations, denser enemy waves, and the introduction of elite monsters to keep the action intense.
Final Thoughts
Deep build customization, fast-paced co-op action, and evolving difficulty mechanics make Terminull Brigade a thrilling and unpredictable roguelike shooter. Whether you’re experimenting with new abilities, strategizing with teammates, or facing relentless AI forces, the game constantly challenges you to adapt and refine your tactics.
Terminull Brigade will be launching on PC via Steam for the second half of 2025 and is planning on launching on additional platforms after launch. A closed beta test is currently ongoing until March 31st, players interested can request access on the official website.
