Frogwares has officially revealed gameplay footage for The Sinking City 2, offering a first look at its combat-heavy survival horror experience set in the flooded, decaying streets of Arkham. Alongside the reveal, the studio has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund additional features and provide a safety net as development continues amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.
A Darker, Deadlier Sinking City
Set in a 1920s Lovecraftian nightmare, The Sinking City 2 shifts the focus from detective work to full-fledged survival horror, blending exploration, resource management, and tense combat against Eldritch monstrosities. Players will navigate a flooded, rotting city, scavenging for limited supplies and choosing whether to investigate deeper mysteries or focus purely on survival.
- Brutal Combat: Use a mix of 1920s firearms and melee weapons to take on horrifying enemies.
- A Decaying Arkham: Explore abandoned mansions, flooded marketplaces, and derelict hospitals—on foot or by boat.

Kickstarter Campaign and Collector’s Editions
Frogwares is turning to Kickstarter for support, aiming to raise €100,000 ($105,000). This approach previously helped them complete and release Sherlock Holmes The Awakened despite the challenges of working in a war-torn country.
Backers can secure exclusive physical Collector’s Editions of the game, along with digital rewards. The campaign also includes a developer deep dive video, showing new in-game footage and behind-the-scenes development updates.
Pushing the Studio in a Horror-First Direction
With The Sinking City 2, Frogwares is leaning further into horror, putting combat and exploration at the forefront while keeping investigation as an optional layer.
“We’re not ditching our investigative roots entirely, but the chance to shift into a horror-first experience has really helped the team grow,” says Sergiy Oganesyan, Publishing Director at Frogwares.
