Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3 Brings Match-3 Horror Chaos to Steam on April 22

Strange Scaffold is back with another slice of interactive chaos, and this time it’s served with teeth, southern accents, and dinosaur shrieks. Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3, the latest genre-hybrid monster from the minds behind El Paso, Elsewhere and I Am Your Beast, is launching on PC via Steam on April 22, and it’s every bit as wild as its name suggests.

Developed by Strange Scaffold and published by Frosty Pop, CRDM3 first caught attention during February’s Steam Next Fest, where its demo turned heads for its absurd genre mash-up and unapologetically unhinged style. Now, it’s ready for prime time — or at least, for your backlog of weird games you can’t stop thinking about.

Wait… It’s a What?

Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3 is a match-3 survival-horror comedy RPG with Metroidvania elements. Yes, seriously. You play as J.J. Hardwell, a man sent to investigate a decaying mansion overrun with… dinosaur activity. But this isn’t just some haunted house — it’s a video game, and you’re stuck inside it.

It’s part narrative experiment, part survival puzzle, part meta-commentary on the game industry, all stitched together with a fake lore bible and a sequel numbering that makes Final Fantasy look consistent.

And no, there is no Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 1 or 2 — and that’s entirely the point.

A Satire That Commits to the Bit

Much like Strange Scaffold’s previous games, CRDM3 leans hard into its central concept. The game presents itself as the third entry in a long-running, beloved franchise that never actually existed. It includes nods to its own fake legacy, a fictional development history, and “cut content” that was never real in the first place. It’s a fever dream of a game that somehow blends sharp satire with actual mechanical depth.

Expect to match tiles to survive, explore labyrinthine mansion wings, make dialogue choices that shape J.J.’s fate, and fight off dino-nightmares — all while the game pokes fun at itself, its fake predecessors, and the entire medium it lives in.

How to Play

Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3 will be available on April 22. You can wishlist and follow it now on Steam.
