FBC: Firebreak Launches June 17 with $39.99 Price Tag and Deluxe Edition Details

It’s finally here, we’ve been clamoring for a release date on Remedy’s new first-person shooter mission-based co-op blah blah for months now and today is the day we get that info. Thanks to the FBC: Firebreak Developer Update for April 2025, a livestream event held by Remedy specifically for FBC: Firebreak, we have both a release date AND pricing, along with various purchasing options. Let’s take a look.

If you don’t want to watch the entire 2-hour stream, I don’t blame you. However, there’s some good deep diving into the gameplay, gameplay techniques, development, and how the game all works. Likewise, plenty of gameplay footage, so you can get a good feel for what you’ll be doing if you’re ever inside Remedy’s offices and get to play in a staged environment. I love the look of this game, and based on the gameplay shown, this will be a really exciting release for me. So maybe I should just give off the release info.

FBC: Firebreak Release Date and Pricing Info

FBC: Firebreak will release on June 17th, 2025, worldwide for PC via Steam & Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Likewise, FBC: Firebreak will be coming day one to PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and PlayStation Plus Catalog (which is the Extra and Premium tiers.)  If you’re purchasing the game, the pricing provided states that the game will release at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. I was hoping this game would be a little cheaper, not because I feel like the developer doesn’t deserve more money, but rather because it relies on a larger audience to play the game. If a single-player game has low numbers, only terminally online chuds care about the player count. If a multiplayer game has low numbers, it’s inherently less fun.

However, opening the game up to the various Game Pass and PS+ tiers should alleviate some of the early day woes. Either way, not my problem.

FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition

The livestream also revealed a deluxe edition for FBC: Firebreak. The deluxe edition appears to be all cosmetics and a “Classified Requisition” which seems like a battle pass that I’ll talk about further down. Right now, let’s just look at the contents and pricing of the deluxe edition.

FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition includes:

  • “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
  • “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
  • Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
  • Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
  • Golden Firebreak Spray
  • Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items, including weapon skins, sprays, and armor set

Having the Classified Requisition feels reminiscent of the way Helldivers 2 handles Warbonds. You pay to unlock the warbond itself, but you unlock the contents by playing through the game. Hopefully, the systems are similar enough that you’re able to unlock them through in-game currency like Helldivers 2 as well. The Deluxe Edition will launch for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. Remedy is also offering an upgrade path if you purchase the regular edition first at $10.00 / €10.00 / £7.00.

Requisitions

In a recent blog post on Steam, Remedy explains requisitions a bit and how they work. First, they go over the two types of requisitions, regular and premium, and carefully explain that they don’t affect gameplay.

  • Requisition – a set of items that can include weapons, equipment, and cosmetic items including armor pieces and sprays that players can unlock with in-game currency. Play the game, unlock stuff. Simple.
  • Classified Requisitions – a set of premium cosmetic items such as armor sets, sprays, and weapon skins. Classified Requisitions are bought with real money. The items contained in Classified Requisitions have no impact on gameplay.

The blog post then goes into how they work, which does have some interesting info, like the fact that requisitions don’t expire, so there’s no rush to complete them.

How They Work

  • Earn Lost Assets by completing Jobs.
  • Spend them to unlock items in any Requisition you have acquired.
  • Unlocking items isn’t fully linear; rather, you can choose what you want to unlock.
  • You can progress multiple Requisitions at once.

While that doesn’t explain whether or not there’s premium currency in-game and whether or not you’ll be able to collect it in-game, a lil’ chunk o’ text in the press release makes it sound like you’ll just be straight up buying the Classified Requisitions.

For those who want additional customization options, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items – such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. Classified Requisitions are purchased with real money. The items are purely cosmetic, have no gameplay impact, and will remain available permanently.

Bummer.

You can currently wishlist FBC: Firebreak in all the available online stores and that includes PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
