The upcoming medieval action-RPG Alkahest has just released a fresh teaser trailer highlighting its fast-paced combat and gritty, grounded fantasy setting. Alongside the trailer reveal, developer Nine Dots announced that the project has officially partnered with indie publisher HypeTrain Digital—the team behind Stoneshard, Voidtrain, and Breathedge.
IGN will exclusively premiere the trailer before it becomes available on public channels at 6 AM PDT / 15:00 CEST on May 23. If you’ve been craving a mix of alchemy-fueled action and Kingdom Come: Deliverance-style realism, Alkahest might be your next obsession.
Not a Hero. Just the Youngest Son of a Petty Lord.
In Alkahest, you’re not the chosen one—you’re a nobody trying to earn a name through sweat and steel. Explore a semi-open world of medieval castles, forests, and villages, where choices matter and every interaction counts.
Inspired by Dishonored, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the game blends immersive exploration with branching paths and clever environmental storytelling.
Brutal Combat with an Alchemical Twist
The real highlight of the teaser is Alkahest’s dynamic, combo-driven combat. Players can mix weapon chains with environmental tactics—like kicking enemies off cliffs, lighting them on fire, or crushing them with falling trees. It’s all about using your surroundings, gadgets, and potions to win.
And forget traditional magic. Instead, you’ll master alchemy: brew concoctions, create oils, rig enemy pockets with volatile mixtures, or drink your own recipes for risky boosts. The system is flexible, experimental, and deeply tied to the world.
HypeTrain Digital Joins the Fray
With the backing of HypeTrain Digital, Alkahest gains new momentum. The indie publisher brings a track record of helping ambitious RPGs reach their potential, and it’s clear they see big things in this brutal, grounded fantasy world.
Already among Steam’s Top 100 Most Wishlisted titles, Alkahest is currently in development for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
