A new wave of players is heading to the sands of Arrakis—Dune: Awakening’s large-scale beta weekend is officially live. Developer Funcom has opened up access to the game’s expansive multiplayer survival world from now until May 12 at 2:59 AM PDT / 11:59 PM CEST, offering players a chance to experience life (and death) on the desert planet.
Inspired by the Dune universe as seen in Denis Villeneuve and Legendary’s blockbuster films, Dune: Awakening blends MMO persistence with open-world survival gameplay. Players will build shelters, battle rival factions, and harvest spice while navigating deadly sandstorms and political intrigue across a massive shared Arrakis.
How to Join the Beta
Players interested in participating have several options:
- Wishlist and request access directly on Dune: Awakening‘s Steam page
- Sign up via email on the game’s official website
- Watch the Global LAN Party Broadcast on Twitch, airing May 10 at 12 PM PDT, where tens of thousands of Beta keys will be handed out
According to Funcom, all the beta details are available in a recent dev blog, including system requirements and participation tips.
