NIS America has officially confirmed that The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon will also launch on Nintendo Switch 2 when the latest installment in the long-running Trails series debuts in January 2026. Previously announced for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC, the addition of the Switch 2 marks a key milestone as the first Trails title to appear on the new hardware.
Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo shared his excitement about the game’s expanded release, noting that the team expects fans to enjoy an “even more enjoyable experience” thanks to the Switch 2’s increased power.
A Final Journey Across Zemuria
Set after the events of Trails through Daybreak, Trails beyond the Horizon once again follows Van Arkride and the Arkride Solutions crew as they face a growing threat that could reshape the entire continent. With fan-favorite characters like Rean Schwarzer and Kevin Graham joining the party, the game is shaping up to be a true culmination of the Trails saga.
Players can expect new systems like Shard Commands, Awakening Mode, and Z.O.C. to expand both exploration and combat options. Customizable dream-team rosters and an ever-evolving dungeon called Grim Garten will test your tactics with party members pulled from all corners of the Trails universe.
