Artis Impact, the Cozy Post-Apocalyptic Pixel RPG, Launches August 7 on Steam

If you’ve been craving a throwback RPG with charm, laughs, and a cozy post-apocalypse, Artis Impact might be your next digital comfort food. Developed entirely by solo Malaysian dev Mas over the last four years, this heartwarming indie RPG is officially launching on August 7, 2025, on PC via Steam — and there’s a free demo available now.

Blending beautiful hand-drawn pixel art, snappy turn-based battles, and a heartfelt narrative full of quirky survivors and sentient AIs, Artis Impact feels like a warm hug to fans of old-school JRPGs, with enough modern touches to keep things breezy and engaging.

A Hand-Painted World Built Pixel by Pixel

Built using RPG Maker MV, Artis Impact stands out immediately with its lush, handmade aesthetic. Every street, ramen stall, and boss sprite was drawn by Mas from scratch, giving the world a vibrant and lived-in personality that’s rare in modern RPGs.

You play as Akane, one of humanity’s few remaining survivors, as she journeys through a decaying but hopeful world with her snarky robot companion, Bot. Along the way, you’ll fight mutated bosses, help fellow oddball survivors, and uncover the forgotten past — sometimes while munching on a potato croquette.

Classic RPG DNA, Streamlined for Fun

Combat is turn-based and quick to pick up, emphasizing momentum and satisfying mechanics over grind-heavy stat spreadsheets. There’s a clear focus on fun-first gameplay, making it approachable for newcomers and still rewarding for genre veterans.

Outside of combat, the game leans heavily into slice-of-life charm. You can decorate your room, pick up part-time jobs, or just unwind with a long bath. It’s Persona meets EarthBound with just a hint of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou vibes — meditative, humorous, and human.

Try the Demo Now — and Wishlist It

The free demo for Artis Impact is live now on Steam, giving players a taste of its whimsical writing, heartfelt world, and low-pressure pacing. It’s a rare post-apocalyptic game where you’ll cry one minute, laugh the next, and still make time for a relaxing dinner with friends.
