Crushed in Time Announced: New Spin-Off of There is No Game Coming 2026

French indie studio Draw Me A Pixel, best known for the cult hit There is No Game, has announced a brand-new comedic adventure: Crushed in Time. Revealed during Gamescom 2025, the spin-off stars Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson as they embark on a bizarre journey to track down a missing character not in their current game, but in another one entirely.

Crushed in Time is slated to launch in 2026 on PC and is available to wishlist now on Steam.

Meta-Humor Meets Time Travel

The adventure leans heavily into meta-comedy, pulling players through different stages of a game’s own development. Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass, Crushed in Time blends whimsical storytelling with self-aware commentary on game design, production quirks, and even what defines a “polygon.”

Draw Me A Pixel promises a unique take on the point-and-click genre, replacing the usual clicks with more dynamic tools like pulling, stretching, and yoinking objects. This twist opens up creative, unconventional puzzle-solving, encouraging players to think like detectives in the most absurd ways possible.

Eclectic Art and Elastic Gameplay

In true There is No Game fashion, Crushed in Time mixes genres, tones, and visual styles with playful absurdity. Players will bounce between vibrant 2D cartoon aesthetics and trippy 3D environments, all while unraveling a mystery that defies typical game logic.

“Elastic” gameplay mechanics add to the unpredictability, making every puzzle a chance to break conventions both narratively and mechanically. With fully voiced characters, offbeat humor, and puzzles designed to be as accessible as they are inventive, Crushed in Time continues the studio’s tradition of making games that blur the line between parody and heartfelt storytelling.
