BAFTA-nominated studio Scriptic has revealed its next big project—an original interactive thriller starring acclaimed actor Ralph Ineson (The Northman, The Green Knight, Final Fantasy XVI). Set in a near-future Britain, the untitled game puts players in the role of a detective tasked with investigating individuals flagged by an algorithm for crimes they haven’t yet committed.
Ineson plays the protagonist’s enigmatic partner, serving as both a guide and a moral counterweight as players navigate the game’s branching storylines. The narrative digs deep into the ethics of AI-powered predictive policing, forcing players to weigh safety against the cost of constant surveillance.
A Star with Gravitas
Known for his distinctive voice and commanding on-screen presence, Ralph Ineson brings a layered complexity to the role. His extensive film credits include Nosferatu, The Witch, and HBO’s Game of Thrones, while his gaming résumé features major roles in Diablo IV, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Final Fantasy XVI.
“It has been an incredible experience working with Scriptic to bring this multifaceted story to life,” said Ineson. “This story digs into the increasingly blurred lines between safety and ever-present surveillance… I think players will find that this story has many unexpected layers to it.”
Scriptic’s Growing Legacy
Scriptic rose to prominence with Scriptic: Crime Stories, a mobile detective title that became a Netflix Games hit and earned a BAFTA nomination. Known for blending live-action drama with interactive, digital interfaces, the studio has built a strong following—garnering over 100 million views on TikTok with its true-crime narratives.
CEO and co-founder Nihal Tharoor noted that Ineson’s “inimitable depth” made him the ideal fit for the new game’s complex partner character, promising an experience designed to “play upon players’ consciences” and push the boundaries of narrative games.
Prestige Narrative Experience on the Horizon
While details such as the title and release window remain under wraps, Scriptic confirmed the project is being developed as a cross-platform narrative experience for Steam, console, and cloud platforms. With backing from major gaming VCs, the Amazon Alexa Fund, and the Sony Innovation Fund, the studio is positioning this as its most ambitious work yet.
Players can expect a morally charged, choice-driven story where every decision shapes the fate of those accused—before they’ve even committed a crime.
