Envar Games, the newly formed development division of Stockholm-based Envar, has revealed its debut original title, Witchspire, during the Future Games Show at gamescom 2025. Known for its co-development contributions to major hits like League of Legends, Overwatch 2, and Valorant, Envar is now stepping into the spotlight with a magical survival-crafting adventure launching first on PC via Early Access in 2026.
A Handcrafted World of Magic and Danger
In Witchspire, players and up to three friends take on the role of fully customizable spellcasters who find themselves trapped in a mysterious world after activating the ancient spire. Traveling by broomstick or on foot, players will explore a vibrant land filled with corrupted creatures, mystical ruins, and the secrets of lost civilizations.
Combat offers a mix of spellcasting and creature collection, with a variety of wands, spellblades, trinkets, and spells to wield. Players can tame enemies and turn them into familiars, each offering unique abilities to assist in combat or exploration. Four starter familiars are available from the outset, with many more waiting to be discovered in the wild.
Building a Magical Sanctuary
Beyond exploration and combat, Witchspire introduces a spell-infused take on survival crafting and base-building. Players can conjure resources through dazzling magical displays, whether it’s calling down comets of ore, growing enchanted forests, or summoning phantom tools to gather materials.
Once resources are secured, the game’s astral projection building system allows for complete creative freedom in designing a safe haven. Familiars can even lend a hand with household chores, making teamwork central to building a thriving sanctuary.
A New Chapter for Envar
“Witchspire marks a new chapter for us as a studio, and we couldn’t be prouder,” said Atey Ghailan, CEO of Envar Studio. “We’ve worked with industry giants such as Riot Games, Blizzard Entertainment, Tencent, Netflix, and Wizards of the Coast and now have the opportunity to create our own world in the survival and adventure game genres. This announcement is our first step in building a AA studio and establishing Witchspire as a fresh, new quality IP.”
Release Date and Platforms
Witchspire will launch first in Early Access for PC via Steam in 2026. More details about additional platforms and content will be revealed in the lead-up to release.
